People's Civic Power Lab is Well Organized Jefferson County's community organizing and civic action collective. We cultivate the relationships, skills, confidence, and shared understanding that communities need to organize, solve problems together, and create lasting change.

We believe strong communities don't happen by accident. They are built when people know one another, understand the issues affecting their communities, and have opportunities to take meaningful action together.

People's Civic Power Lab brings neighbors, advocates, organizers, and emerging leaders together to build relationships, strengthen organizing skills, develop campaigns, and grow collective power. Together we explore how local decisions are made, practice community organizing, build coalitions, facilitate conversations, advocate for community priorities, and develop the leadership needed to create more just and resilient communities.

Our approach is rooted in participatory governance. We believe the people most impacted by decisions should have meaningful opportunities to shape them. Organizing begins with relationships, grows through shared learning and leadership, and leads to collective action that transforms systems. Drawing from traditions of community organizing, popular education, participatory governance, and relational leadership, People's Civic Power Lab equips people with the tools to turn relationships into collective action and collective action into lasting systems change. Strong communities require strong relationships. That's why conflict navigation, trust building, and healthy collaboration are foundational organizing skills we practice together.

People's Civic Power Lab is not simply a training program. It is a collaborative space where community members come together to identify challenges, develop organizing strategies, launch campaigns, support one another, and build the skills and relationships needed to create lasting change.
